Brian founded Keith Engineering Design in 2005 and maintains an active role in all of the company’s projects—overseeing all electrical engineering from schematic design through project close-out. He has 20-plus years of experience in the design of institutional, industrial and commercial electrical systems, a deep understanding of how electrical systems are designed and installed, and detailed knowledge of the electrical costs associated with commercial projects. His expertise helps ensure KED delivers the highest quality design within the constraints of your project’s budget. Before founding KED, Brian served as a project manager, design engineer and estimator for a commercial electrical contractor.

As a licensed Mechanical Engineer, Adam Camp brings a wealth of expertise to his projects at KED. Throughout his eight-plus years of experience, he has proven his expertise in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings. Adam also is an experienced user of CAD and Revit Autodesk programs to deliver high-quality designs and detailed coordination.
KED is a small enough company that we build relationships with our clients. We can incorporate the client’s needs into our designs on a personal level.

What is your favorite part of your job?  Helping everyone every day!  Seriously, I enjoy helping people, whether it’s clients with a problem to solve on a project or a coworker that needs a friendly smile and a good word on a bad day.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?  I enjoy spending time with my family and being outdoors!  A long hike or a bike ride (with a stop at a pub along the way!) with a BBQ at the end of the journey are elements of an ideal Saturday!

What is a secret skill you have?  I am bilingual (Hungarian and English)

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday? My favorite thing to do on a Saturday is to go out with some friends and find somewhere new to enjoy the outdoors.

What is a secret skill you have? One of my secret skills is that I have a really good memory.

What is something you can’t live without? I would not be able to live without music. It is a constant in my life.

What is working at Bluestone like? Working at Bluestone is like getting to work with a bunch of your friends every day. The atmosphere at the office is very fun and brings about a lot of interesting projects to work on.

What is your favorite part of your job? I enjoy getting to meet new people and learn about different companies. I get excited when we get a project for something really unique that requires a deeper understanding of how a space is going to be used.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday? My favorite thing to do would be snowboarding in the winter months and camping during the summer. Lately the weekends have been filling up with roller skating and roller derby practice and games for my wife and two daughters. I’m still terrible at skating but it’s still fun to watch how good the rest of the family are doing.

What is a secret skill you have? During 2020 I learned how to paint miniature models for board games.

Where is your happy place? I feel most at ease when I’m outside at my parents’ acreage North of Ogden by Don Williams Park.

What is something you can’t live without? It would be a struggle to go without Mt Dew. One of those things that I know is bad for me but have made no attempts to kick the habit.

What is working at Bluestone like? Most days it feels like working with friends. The environment stays lighthearted and upbeat allowing personalities to come out. There’s a willingness to help each other out when things get busy which gives the feeling of a community of people working towards a common goal.

Which came first – the chicken or the egg? I would say the egg came first. I would follow the theory of evolution and argue that an egg likely contained an evolution from an earlier chicken like animal. So the animal that came before would not necessarily be considered a chicken.

If you could be on any game show, what would it be? Probably Wipe Out. I like obstacle courses, but I’m no where near being in good enough shape for the more intense versions like ninja warrior.

Keith Barth has 34 years of experience as an electrical engineer in our industry—bringing a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience. Since graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in mechanical engineering, Kyle has taken on increasing levels of responsibility in the workplace. He began his career as a manufacturing engineer before coming to KED, so he brings a wide range of knowledge and skills. He is versed in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings. Kyle also is an experienced user of CAD and Revit Autodesk programs to deliver high-quality designs and detailed coordination.

Since graduating from Bradley University with a degree in mechanical engineering, Lane spent three years as a field service engineer in the medical field. He gained valuable knowledge and real-world experience working with specialized equipment, which he now uses in his schematic designing, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings. Lane is an experienced user of AutoCAD, delivering high-quality designs and detailed coordination.

Luke holds over 18 years of experience as a mechanical engineer. Throughout the years, he has held roles as a senior mechanical engineer, project engineer and project manager. Luke has experience designing for the following industries : healthcare, educational, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. He has also been involved in the ASHRAE Organization for 17 years—serving on the Board of Governors since 2014 where he currently holds the Treasurer position.

Ryan Holmes brings 37 years of engineering experience to the team, having held roles as a project engineer, project manager, senior mechanical engineer and president/founder of MEP. He is an expert in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications. Ryan’s expertise in the area of temperature control systems—and how they affect the performance of HVAC systems—is a valuable addition to any project.

Prior to graduating college, Jesse worked 10 years in construction, bringing a wealth of real world experience to his engineering designs. At KED, his responsibilities include mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing system design. He is well-versed in both AutoCAD and REVIT software, allowing for flexibility based on the client’s needs.
