Brian founded Keith Engineering Design in 2005 and maintains an active role in all of the company’s projects—overseeing all electrical engineering from schematic design through project close-out. He has 20-plus years of experience in the design of institutional, industrial and commercial electrical systems, a deep understanding of how electrical systems are designed and installed, and detailed knowledge of the electrical costs associated with commercial projects. His expertise helps ensure KED delivers the highest quality design within the constraints of your project’s budget. Before founding KED, Brian served as a project manager, design engineer and estimator for a commercial electrical contractor.

As a licensed Mechanical Engineer, Adam Camp brings a wealth of expertise to his projects at KED. Throughout his eight-plus years of experience, he has proven his expertise in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings. Adam also is an experienced user of CAD and Revit Autodesk programs to deliver high-quality designs and detailed coordination.
KED is a small enough company that we build relationships with our clients. We can incorporate the client’s needs into our designs on a personal level.

Austin’s experience extends from lighting design and controls, to telecommunications and power distribution, to fire alarm, security, nurse call and emergency generation systems. A Bradley University graduate and an expert CAD and Revit Autodesk user, Austin delivers high-quality designs and detailed coordination drawings for K-12 schools, healthcare facilities, office buildings recreation centers and industrial applications.

Alan currently holds a degree in Engineering Science. His proficiency with CAD and Revit Autodesk programs, combined with his previous employment as a carpenter, add to his expertise in electrical system installation and application, resulting in precise, well-thought-out, easy-to-read designs. Alan’s areas of expertise include lighting and lighting controls, service and distribution, fire alarm technology, nurse call systems and emergency distribution. He has designed across multiple industries—medical, commercial, educational and industrial.

What is your favorite part of your job? I enjoy getting to meet new people and learn about different companies. I get excited when we get a project for something really unique that requires a deeper understanding of how a space is going to be used.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday? My favorite thing to do would be snowboarding in the winter months and camping during the summer. Lately the weekends have been filling up with roller skating and roller derby practice and games for my wife and two daughters. I’m still terrible at skating but it’s still fun to watch how good the rest of the family are doing.

With 29 years of experience as an electrical engineer and having held roles as a project engineer, senior electrical engineer and project manager, Curtis Teustsch brings a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience to the team. He has experience designing electrical systems for various industries including : healthcare, educational, commercial, industrial, detention and institutional facilities. Curtis has also been responsible for all project aspects including schematic design and planning, project budgeting, design and construction observation.

Since graduating from Bradley University with a degree in electrical engineering, Drew has increasingly taken on more responsibility at KED. He designs electrical systems for industrial, medical, commercial and educational facilities – with responsibility for lighting, lighting controls, service, distribution, fire alarm, technology, nurse call systems and emergency distribution. Drew is an experienced user of CAD and Revit Autodesk programs, through which he delivers high-quality designs and detailed coordination.

Jim brings a vast amount of experience in engineering and consulting to your projects. He designs electrical systems for industrial, commercial, medical and educational facilities with responsibility for service and distribution, lighting and lighting controls, nurse call systems, fire alarm technology and emergency distribution. Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

At KED, his responsibilities include the design of lighting, lighting control, service, distribution, fire alarm, technology, nurse call, security, sound and emergency generation systems. Keith Barth has 34 years of experience as an electrical engineer in our industry—bringing a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience. He is responsible for project scheduling, quality and accuracy of his projects, as well as all aspects of electrical systems design including building interior and exterior lighting, power distribution, communications, fire alarm and security systems design. Serving most recently as a Vice President at his previous firm, Keith has worked on a variety of projects in the institutional, industrial, healthcare and commercial markets. Keith is instrumental in providing clients with excellent customer service.

He gained valuable knowledge and real-world experience working with specialized equipment, which he now uses in his schematic designing, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings. Lane is an experienced user of AutoCAD, delivering high-quality designs and detailed coordination.

Luke holds over 18 years of experience as a mechanical engineer. Throughout the years, he has held roles as a senior mechanical engineer, project engineer and project manager. Luke has experience designing for the following industries : healthcare, educational, commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. He has also been involved in the ASHRAE Organization for 17 years—serving on the Board of Governors since 2014 where he currently holds the Treasurer position.

Since graduating from Northern Illinois University with a degree in mechanical engineering, Mitchell has taken on increasing levels of responsibility at KED. He is an experienced user of CAD and Revit Autodesk programs to deliver high-quality designs and detailed coordination. Mitchell is skilled in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications—including education, medical, industrial, commercial and government buildings.

Ryan Holmes brings 37 years of engineering experience to the team, having held roles as a project engineer, project manager, senior mechanical engineer and president/founder of MEP. He is an expert in conceptual and schematic design, mechanical load calculations, mechanical equipment selection and piping/ductwork layout across a diverse set of HVAC applications. Ryan’s expertise in the area of temperature control systems—and how they affect the performance of HVAC systems—is a valuable addition to any project.

With a strong foundation as a former journeyman plumber, Jake brings a unique blend of hands-on experience and technical expertise to every project. He applies his in-field plumbing knowledge to his engineering designs, ensuring practical, seamless systems. From schematic design, to on-site installation, to project close-out, Jake offers deep expertise in all aspects of plumbing and fire protection. He puts his 8 years of industry experience to work for you, having successfully contributed to a variety of design projects – including educational facilities, commercial buildings, healthcare institutions, community complexes, and industrial facilities.

With over 29 years of experience in the field, James is a seasoned expert in plumbing and fire protection engineering. Leading our Plumbing & Fire Protection department with precision and expertise, he ensures that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety. James brings a deep understanding of plumbing and fire protection design from drafting and design to estimation and construction project management.

Jesse graduated from LeTourneau University with his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to graduating college, Jesse worked 10 years in construction, bringing a wealth of real world experience to his engineering designs. At KED, his responsibilities include mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing system design. He is well-versed in both AutoCAD and REVIT software, allowing for flexibility based on the client’s needs. Jesse applies his expertise to ensure high-quality finished products for government, commercial, healthcare, institutional and educational facilities.
