Designing a New Dialysis Treatment Center

OSF Behavioral Health had outgrown their existing space and needed an updated work environment that protected patient safety, privacy, dignity and respect. Careful planning had to ensue so that the design was flexible enough to meet a variety of needs for behavioral health providers as an existing building was being renovated.
Our entire design was anti-ligature to ensure patient safety. We coordinated with the utility company to bring in all new services. Due to building space restrictions, we worked with the contractor to design an elevator that didn’t require an equipment room. Adding LED lights provided greater energy efficiency. Ultimately, we provided a more efficient and economical space using state-of-the-art engineer- ing.
