The Challenge
The project involved a complete renovation of the 1972 addition to Danville High School delivered through an 18-month phased construction effort. The work was completed while the school remained fully operational, requiring careful coordination to relocate students and isolate construction zones throughout the building. The renovation spanned from basement to top floor and modernized outdated instructional, media, and specialty learning spaces that no longer met current educational standards. The key challenge was executing a full building transformation while maintaining safe, uninterrupted learning environments.

The design modernized all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including new HVAC infrastructure, lighting, and building-wide system upgrades. Careful coordination ensured the new systems aligned with reconfigured classrooms, science labs, media spaces, and collaborative learning areas.
