Morton Police Station needed to remodel its existing dispatch department to stay current with 911 code requirements. Beyond the required renovation, the station also decided to expand and renovate other areas of the facility to better meet their needs. Specifically, the station needed a dedicated detective office, additional interrogation rooms, and a contained garage for police vehicle entry. The station’s HVAC system needed to be extended and upgraded for better control. Being a police station, the facility also required very specialized security measures.
We incorporated advanced security and communication systems, surveillance, and access control into our design. We recommended an HVAC system that includes two furnaces to serve two separate zones, helping to achieve comfortable temperatures while remaining budget conscious. We expanded the facility to better meet the needs of each department, including the addition of a dedicated detective office, a secure entry garage, and additional interrogation rooms. As a result, Morton Police Station’s dispatch department remains 911 code-compliant, and the expansion provides a technologically advanced, comfortable, and reliable facility for the Morton police force.
