The Challenge
Renovating the Chick-fil-A within Bradley University’s Michel Student Center required a complete transformation of the customer point-of-sale and serving areas while maintaining coordination within an active campus environment. The project also involved removing existing sales kiosks, relocating beverage stations, and integrating a new kitchen equipment layout while meeting Chick-fil-A’s established brand standards and operational requirements. In addition, the design had to accommodate existing exhaust hoods and mechanical systems that were intended to remain in service, requiring careful evaluation and coordination with the renovated space.

As the MEP/T engineering consultant, KEDbluestone worked closely with the project team to integrate the updated restaurant layout while maintaining consistency with Chick-fil-A’s corporate design criteria and operational expectations. Our team coordinated the revised kitchen equipment, utility connections, and beverage station locations with the existing building infrastructure to maximize the use of existing systems and minimize construction impacts. Through detailed engineering design and stakeholder collaboration, KEDbluestone delivered solutions that supported a successful renovation and provided Bradley University with an updated dining space that aligns with both campus needs and the Chick-fil-A brand experience.
