Originally built in 1962, Sterling Middle School faced two common problems, the need for air conditioning and to increase energy efficiency. The building structure and minimal space above ceiling, left little space for the installation of necessary ductwork. The school also had specific security and data needs.
We installed a 96% efficient boiler with modulating turn down ratios to match the building’s heating needs. To create more space for the installation of new ductwork, ceiling heights were lowered, which also required lights and data cabling to be lowered. Our design utilized all new LED lighting, providing superb energy efficiency. Thermaduct was installed as a weather resistant and energy efficient duct work for the Roof Top Units. Web-based controls allows the boilers to be monitored remotely.
