The expansion of the fitness center at Green Hills into a 9,100 square foot slab-on-grade addition presented several challenges, including integrating a complex HVAC system into the new space. The project required precise climate control for a 1,700 square foot pool room, along with the large exercise and aerobics rooms, all within the existing mid-rise building. Coordinating the installation of a dedicated pool dehumidification unit, along with various air handling units, added complexity to the HVAC design.
KEDbluestone addressed these challenges by crafting a customized HVAC solution that included a dedicated dehumidification unit for the pool room and a variable air volume system for the rest of the fitness center expansion. We carefully managed the installation of fan-powered and single duct terminal air units with electric reheat to meet the diverse needs of each area. Our meticulous planning and execution ensured that the expanded facility was fully operational and met all design requirements, enhancing the fitness center’s capabilities and user experience.
