The Challenge

When Berkley Technology Services expanded into a 90,000-square-foot, two-story building in Des Moines, KEDbluestone was tasked with creating an open-plan office space that could support high-density workstations without the use of power poles. The challenge included developing a flexible, efficient cabling pathway for modular workstations and accommodating increased occupant loads with the existing HVAC system.

KEDbluestone Solution

KEDbluestone designed a solution utilizing pre-existing floor ducts and new in-floor raceways to provide adaptable network and power connections. To handle the added occupancy, the HVAC system was rezoned to ensure comfort throughout the office. The project also featured direct/indirect office lighting with daylight harvesting, upgraded network infrastructure, and new A/V systems, creating a modern, efficient workspace tailored to BTS’s operational needs.
