The Challenge

District administrators wanted to establish Calvin Coolidge as a community hub for athletic events, but doing so required making significant physical improvements to this school originally built in 1937 — as well as balancing the need for public access with student safety.

KEDbluestone Solution

Supporting the school’s addition of a full-size athletic gymnasium — which included restrooms, locker rooms, a lobby, a concession area and an office — required full-service engineering design. We installed two rooftop HVAC units as well as lighting, plumbing, fire protection and fire alarm systems. We also fitted the building with a new access-control system that allows community members to enter public spaces while keeping school areas securely locked.
