Creating a Technologically Advanced Medical Education Facility

The Challenge
OSF HealthCare Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center needed to transform their empty, existing shell space into a new on-site nursing student training center. The goal was to create a space that allowed teachers to remotely observe students’ training sessions, giving them space to work while also closely monitoring the students’ decision-making and progress. The space required an extension of the existing systems, as well as specialized remote monitoring equipment.
KEDbluestone Solution
We provided new lighting and controls, as well as the specialized camera systems needed for remote monitoring. We strategized camera placement to ensure the entire process could be observed without interruption. We also extended all necessary plumbing, fire protection, data, and card access systems. As a result, OSF HealthCare now has a fully functional nursing training space that simultaneously allows for hands-off teaching and hands-on learning.
