The client wanted to open a new YMCA location that would include a competition pool, a leisure pool, youth areas, childcare, administrative areas, and a community center. This design-build project required coordinating the new systems with the pre-existing electrical system in the building was challenging. Also, another engineering firm that specializes in HVAC for natatoriums was hired to do that section of the project, requiring additional coordination.
We worked closely with the other engineering firm to ensure their natatorium HVAC system would connect seamlessly to the building’s HVAC system. We tied the new electrical elements into the building’s existing electrical system and extended it as needed. The new facility is now fully operational, offering amenities such as swimming, working out, childcare, youth programs, and community services. This state-of-the-art YMCA will serve the local community for years to come.
