The Challenge

The Iowa Army National Guard and US Army Reserves needed two additional buildings to better meet the needs of the campus. One of the new buildings would serve as a readiness center and the other would serve as a field maintenance shop. The readiness facility needed to house an assembly/drill hall, offices, classrooms, a full-service kitchen, and unit equipment storage. The field maintenance shop needed to house vehicle work bays, a wash bay, offices, classrooms, tools and parts rooms, and equipment storage.

KEDbluestone Solution

We designed each building to meet the specific needs of the campus. The readiness center included office space, a kitchen, classroom space, and storage areas. The field maintenance facility included seven vehicle work bays and a wash bay to ensure ease of vehicle care. The field maintenance facility also included office and classroom space, tools and parts rooms, and equipment storage. As a result, the Iowa National Guard and US Army Reserves now have two additional buildings to allow for more seamless day-to-day operations and vehicle maintenance on campus.
