The Challenge

The Peoria Park District’s Golf Learning Center renovation transformed an existing golf facility into a year round entertainment destination featuring a two story Toptracer driving range, restaurant, event space, golf simulators, and upgraded amenities while remaining partially operational during construction. The project required the integration of modern technology, expanded building systems, extended operating hours, and phased construction within an existing facility, all while accommodating ongoing public use and addressing budget impacts from inflation. Careful coordination was essential to support the new spaces, improve energy efficiency, and deliver reliable building infrastructure for a high occupancy recreation venue.

KEDbluestone Solution

As the MEP/T engineer, we designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems needed to support the facility’s transformation while working within the constraints of the existing building. Our team collaborated closely with the owner and project partners to integrate Toptracer technology, support the new restaurant and entertainment spaces, improve occupant comfort, and provide efficient, reliable building systems that met the project’s operational goals. Through proactive coordination and thoughtful engineering, KEDbluestone helped deliver a modern, flexible facility that enhances the visitor experience and positions the Golf Learning Center & Academy as a premier recreation destination for the region.
