Designing a New Dialysis Treatment Center
THE CHALLENGE The Proctor Professional Building needed to renovate its existing basement space into a new dialysis treatment center. The ceiling height brought challenges, as
Northmoor School needed air conditioning added to its building, in order to better suit the needs of the school’s students and staff. However, the building is older, and the existing spaces were not designed for the necessary air conditioning components, causing spatial constraints, and difficulty routing pathways. The school’s original boilers and pumps needed to be addressed to increase efficiency.
The boilers and pumps were replaced, resulting in better water treatment, causing a significant increase in efficiency. The increased efficiency allowed for energy cost savings for the school. We overcame the spatial constraints and pathway difficulties through detailed coordination and planning. We retrofitted a refrigerant-based DX cooling system, bringing air conditioning throughout the entire school. Northmoor School now has a fully air conditioned building, an upgraded heating system, and most importantly, a comfortable environment for students and staff.
